STORY

Dating to circa 1969, this Rolex Oysterdate Precision 6694 pairs a 34 mm stainless steel Oyster case with a manual-wind movement, smooth bezel and acrylic crystal with Cyclops date magnifier. Its compact proportions and simple date display give it the understated practicality that defines the model. And then there’s the dial, aged with tons of patina.

This example is fitted with an authentic Rolex riveted Oyster bracelet, whose construction adds another vintage detail. Accompanying Japanese Rolex service documentation records a mechanical overhaul in 1989, preserving a documented chapter of the watch’s history. Familiar in silhouette, but individual in detail. It’s hard to imagine another dial quite like this.
