Hand-painted by the Chatham sign shop, this sign stood at Westhaver Square for years, part of the Cape Cod neighborhood where our family spent childhood summers and countless holidays. Sun, salt, rain and snow beside Oyster River gave it the character we love. It hangs inside our home now, keeping those memories close.

STORY

Hand-painted by the Chatham Sign Shop, this Uncle Abner’s Path sign stood at Westhaver Square for years, in the neighborhood around our family’s Cape Cod property. It was mounted to a wooden post, and its original screws remain with it.

Childhood summers there grew into years of holidays, memorable weekends and gatherings with family and friends. After seasons of sun, snow, rain and salty air beside Oyster River, the sign now hangs inside our home, keeping those memories close.

It is one of the pieces that helped shape MAWKO Supply Co.’s affection for objects with a history close to home. We love its worn paint and timeworn character, and the people and memories it brings to mind. It remains in our private collection, cared for with the hope of passing both the piece and its story on.

CONDITION

Vintage

White lettering remains clearly readable against the weathered dark painted surface. Scattered paint losses, scratches, edge wear and exposed wood, with a narrow vertical split toward the right side. The unlettered reverse has uneven paint, worn areas and mounting holes. Original mounting screws remain present. Existing hanging hardware is present but has not been load-tested. Please review the detailed photographs and use suitable mounting hardware for display.
